Masonic Pocket Watch

Pocket watches are often seen as being something of the past that is only used by the elder population who remember when that was the only way of keeping time. This is no longer the case and all types of pocket watches, including the Masonic pocket watch, are highly regarded by individuals both young and old alike.

All silver pocket watches are not created equal though and this is especially true when it comes to examining the Masonic pocket watch. What makes these different from the rest is that they are adorned with symbols which are linked to the occult. This definitely makes them stand out from the traditional pocket watches we are all familiar with. Some of the common symbols you may find include the diamond with a G in the center, a trowel, or a plum. This list is not all inclusive though and there are many other symbols in the field of masonry that may be adorned on the Masonic pocket watch that you may happen to stumble upon or even purchase yourself.

The pocket watch can come in a variety of styles but the most common type for this is one that has a hunter case. The reasoning for this is so the symbols can be engraved either on the front or back of the case with elaborate detail and care. Some are triangular though.

There are some, especially the Dudley Masonic pocket, which are well known and famous in the field of masonry. This particular one was invented by William Wallace Dudley, which is where the name originated.
