Old pocket watches are things that are passed down from generation to generation in families. You may own one that used to belong to your grandfather and intend to pass it to your children and hope that they do the same thing as time goes on. Although not all old pocket watches are worth a lot of money, their value in sentiment may be a lot higher. It could only be worth $50 like many of the traditional silver pocket watches but the stories behind it could not be marked with a price at all.

One example is a story of one of the many old pocket watches that families have and keep. In one situation the old pocket watch had belonged to a young man’s grand father. His grandfather had taken and used this pocket watch all over the world. It had been in many countries, different continents, and crossed the oceans as well. This is quite a story to have for being something as small as a pocket watch.

Silver pocket watches may not be worth a lot of money but the factors that determine the worth of old pocket watches depending on the supply and demand factor. Other things that influence this are the cost of the materials used to make it, the time it took to engrave the image, and how old it is as well. Antiques always increase in value as time goes on because they are no longer being made yet more people want them, driving price up.
